I would never recommend this individual to anyone. I purchased a Chevy Trax from him without negotiation, on the sole condition that he provide a fault-free vehicle that would not cause any issues. Additionally, I paid for a warranty based on his assurance that he was arranging one through a reputable company and would deliver it within ten days, for which he charged me $600.
He delayed the vehicle’s delivery by three days. To make matters worse, when he initially showed me the car, he failed to disclose the hail damage. On the day of delivery, once the snow covering the vehicle had melted, the damage became apparent, and he brushed it off as minor. Furthermore, he originally presented the car with winter tires, but upon delivery, it was fitted with all-season, locally manufactured tires.
Despite paying 1.5 times the market price, trusting that I was receiving a superior deal, he failed to fulfill his commitments. He never followed up regarding the warranty for which I had already paid. After waiting 1.5 months, I contacted him to request a refund for the warranty or get me winter tire as initially showed since it had been delayed beyond reason. He stated that the warranty was only worth $150 and offered either the warranty or a refund of this reduced amount. Frustrated, I forfeited the refund, hoping he would feel some guilt for his deceit.
However, my frustrations didn’t end there. Just 1.5 months later, the car’s battery died, revealing his lack of honesty and commitment. Upon inspection, my mechanic discovered a gasket leak and noted that the engine oil had not been changed in a long time, contradicting his earlier claim that it was recently serviced. This ordeal cost me two days of inconvenience and significant expenses for a new battery, engine oil replacement, gasket repairs, winter tires, and even a new license plate, as he had failed to inform me that I needed to purchase one myself.
Now, my mechanic has advised me to replace the transmission oil, as it appears he may have lied about that as well, leaving me at risk of incurring further substantial expenses.
The only redeeming quality about him is his ability to weave humor into his conversations, making you feel as though he is offering the best deal in the market. Unfortunately, this charm doesn’t extend to his honesty or business practices.
I have no personal gain in sharing this experience except to caution others. While he may present his version of events, it is up to potential buyers to exercise due diligence. If they still wish to engage with him, I strongly recommend having the vehicle inspected by a trusted mechanic to ensure it is in proper condition. Over and above he wanted my to write good reviews to his page. ALL THE BEST TO EVERYONE
